SCREENING: ALTERNATIVE FACTS in Dallas

Hosted by Dallas Asian American Bar Association (DAABA) and the Dallas-Fort Worth Chapter of the American Constitution Society.

Please join DAABA and the DFW Chapter of the American Constitution Society for a screening and panel discussion of the documentary, “ALTERNATIVE FACTS: The Lies of Executive Order 9066” on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at 7 PM in the Walsh Classroom at SMU Dedman School of Law. The documentary highlights the legal and political circumstances that led to incarceration of Japanese-Americans during World War II. The discussion will focus on lessons learned from the circumstances that led to Japanese-American internment and limits on the executive power.  Panelists will include members from the Dallas legal community, such as Professor Jeffrey Kahn, Professor of Law and Gerald Ford Research Fellow at the SMU Dedman School of Law, and Don Tamaki, the attorney who represented Fred Korematsu in the landmark case Korematsu v. United States.
